Introducing New Material

-Teacher introduces the dialogues (greeting) by showing the chart to the students and students repeat the dialogues together

- Teacher demonstrates the role play by using the puppets and tell the students that they are going to do a role play later and they need to prepare the dialogues in pairs

T: Everyone, pay attention!

S: (Students pay attention to the teacher)

T: Look at this! (Teacher shows the chart)

S: (Look at the chart)

T: (Shows the chart) Please repeat after me! “Good morning, Alexa”

S: (Repeat) “Good morning, Alexa”

 

T: Okay students, now, listen to me.

S: (Listen to the teacher)

T: (Shows the puppets) This is Dipsy and this is Lala. Dipsy and Lala meet in the morning. Dipsy say good morning to Lala. “Good morning, Lala” (Teacher shakes the puppet) and then Lala answered “Good morning, Dipsy” (Teacher shakes the puppet)

-Teacher asks students to walk/dance around the class when the music is playing.

-When the music stops, students should meet the closest student to them and shake their hands and greet them.

T: Okay, students. Now, stand up please!


S: (Stand up)


T: When you hear the music, please walk or dance around the class, okay? And when the music is stop, you should greet your friends closest to you, okay?

Storytelling:

 

One day, Melia helped her parents for gardening. She likes to help her parents. In the garden, Melia saw so many flowers and a lot of grass. There were also many garden tools, like watering can, hose, and shovel.  Melia watered the flower using watering can. Her father cut the grass, and her mother watered the grass using hose. Melia was very happy and she felt like a gardener.

 

T: Students, it’s time for story telling. Do you want to hear a story?


S: Yes miss


T: (Start the story telling)


S: (Listen to the teacher)


T: Students, do you like the story?


S: Yes miss


T: So, what is this? (Show the flower card)

Spin the Bottle.

Sit in a circle with a bottle in the middle.  Teacher spins the bottle.  When it stops spinning the student it is pointing to has to guess/answer a question

 

-Teacher asks student to make a circle

-Teacher puts the bottle in the middle

-Teacher spins the bottle

-When the bottle stop spinning, teacher asks a question to student

-Students answer teacher’s questions

T: (Puts the bottle in the middle) Okay, when the bottle stops spinning, and if this bottle pointing to you, I will ask you to guess what card I show you, okay?
